Pictures with Santa 2011
Thanks to
everyone who took part in having their
pictures taken with Santa. There were
children, families and just pets sitting
on Santa's lap. It was such a fun day
with the pictures and the 5th Avenue
Fashion Show. Thanks to all
our hardworking volunteers. Without
their help this would not have been
possible. Woofs and purrs to Santa (Jeff
Talarico), the Elf (Jennifer Dixon) and
our Chair (Carlotta Schmittgen). We are
especially grateful to Lou Ann Maxwell,
our photographer, and Greg Maxwell
Motors for allowing us to use their
facility. We hope that everyone
thoroughly enjoyed themselves and plans
to come again next year. On behalf
of the Board of Directors, our staff and
all our volunteers, we wish everyone

Volunteers needed, please! ... all to benefit the animals ...
We are in desperate need of more volunteers to walk and play with
the dogs and cats and give them hands-on care.
Pet Therapy volunteers are
also needed to keep up with this
ever-expanding and rewarding program. Our current programs
include:
Education:
School Programs, Head Start Program,
Canine Literacy Program
Pet Therapy:
Nursing home visits with you and your special pal!

K-9 Literacy:
Once a week, for 6 weeks, the volunteers take their dogs to one
of 3 schools and the child, his/her dog, and the volunteer go off to
a quiet place so the child can read to the dog alone...read
more
Pet Pals:
Come socialize our animals -- maybe you want a little company for
the afternoon.
Fundraisers:
Help with our fundraisers
Resale Shop:
Our "Pick of the Litter"
Resale Shop is staffed entirely by
volunteers. We're always looking for a new friendly face!
Miscellaneous:
From time to time we have need of a volunteer or two to handle
other miscellaneous tasks for the Society ....
